A distant view of Ramelton and the main road leading into it. Carn Lodge, the home I stayed at, was just a ten minute walk outside of this small town.

The country road that we used to walk into town instead of the main road.

A typical Irish house. It's common for doors to be painted all different colors. Blue, red, yellow, purple, and green are the most popular choices.

Derry: one of the last walled cities in all of Europe, if not the very last one.

The peace bridge in Derry. Before it was built, Protestant English lived on one side of the river, and Catholic Irish on the other side. There was constant warring between the two divisions until they finally agreed to end the fighting. The peace bridge was built to unify the two sides and act as the sign of peace between them.

On the drive home from Derry, we pulled over to take a few pictures from the hilltop of the stunning scenery. No matter where you are in Ireland, you're always surrounded by these beautiful hills and fields divided by hedges. Typically you'll find sheep and cows in the green squares.

Another hilltop view.

Glenveigh: one of Ireland's national parks. The lake was called Loch Veigh, and a path led through the valley up to Castle Glenveigh.

Our path up to Glenveigh Castle was so beautiful, with the most incredible scenery- the views were breathtaking and changed with every turn.

Loch Veigh

When we left the path along Loch Veigh to walk up to the castle, we had to wind our way through the beautiful castle greens.

There were so many different, beautiful flowers along our path.

Dew still covered all of the plants and flowers as we walked up to the castle.

These flowers lined the path for most of our walk up to the castle.
